WESTLAKE, Ohio — “I knew the moment l saw her I wanted to marry her,” Scott Johnson said as his new bride, Irene, stood at his side after their wedding Monday afternoon during Crocker Park’s fourth annual Valentine’s Day “I Do” Weddings at Market Square.

The couple was engaged for six years. “I’m thankful he’s a patient man,” Irene said.

Fifteen couples tied the knot during the sunny but chilly afternoon on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day. The 15-minute wedding ceremonies ran from 2-7 p.m. and were conducted by officiant Karen Hirsh of Perfectly Celebrated, LTD.

Bride and groom Olivia and Paul Samplawski brought their dog, Amy, to serve as their ring bearer for their ceremony. Hirsh asked for the rings and Paul bent over to retrieve them from Amy’s decorative collar pouch. Amy performed well during the wedding.

As all weddings go, there were some slight complications, including the Samplawskis forgetting their flowers.

After the ceremony, each couple received a complimentary Crocker Park gift basket, including a bottle of bubbly.
