A long awaited wedding for Rebecca and Reece Leverton from Aspatria

It was a day of tear-jerking speeches and joyful celebrations for Rebecca and Reece Leverton when were they were able to get married post-lockdown.

Like so many couples their wedding was cancelled last year and when restrictions were able to lift they leapt at the opportunity and enjoyed a wonderful and magical summertime wedding.

Beckie and Reece both met at UCLAN in Preston.

After a few months they became close, Beckie said: “We knew so much about each other, and Reece soon became my absolute rock. My Dad later that year became seriously unwell, and Reece was there to comfort and support and even stopped me from leaving University altogether, which I will forever thank him for today.”

They spent the whole of that summer getting to know each other and on returning to University Beckie and Reece moved into a shared house where their relationship kicked off and the couple have been together ever since. They were married at All Hallows Church in Fletchertown at 1:30pm in front of family and friends, their marriage witnessed by Margaret Dalgliesh, Jack Leverton, James and Karen Wells.

The happy couple then travelled to Hundith Hill Hotel to celebrate their big day with family and friends.

Their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic was cancelled last minute due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The couple both share very difficult professions with Rebecca being a mental health nurse working long hours in the crisis and perinatal team and her husband is a learning disability support worker. Rebecca was placed on the high risk list and still worked from home, helping and reassuring her clients.
