‘Attention Seeking’ Guest Slammed For Wearing White Gown to Wedding in Clip

A woman went viral after revealing that a wedding guest wore a white gown to her sister’s wedding.

The user who goes only as @imlostplsfindme posted the video to TikTok where it received more than 853,000 views and 2,115 comments in less than 24 hours, with many calling out the woman for taking attention away from the bride.

One of the unsaid rules of being a polite wedding guest is making sure not to upstage or upset the bride, whether that includes acting appropriately or avoiding wearing a white gown.

“This cruella [sic] attention seeker wore a white gown with a train that’s right now pinned up to my sister’s wedding,” the on-screen text read.

“It’s safe to stay away from any outfits that are predominantly white, cream or ivory,” wedding dress designer Madeline Gardner told The Knot.

The Knot even recommends avoiding clothes featuring a white pattern. Instead, it’s best to gravitate toward solid colors and avoid formal silhouettes that might resemble a wedding gown.

In the video, a blond woman wearing a strapless, long white gown with large white flowers with rhinestones around the top is seen dancing with a man in the middle of the dance floor. A subsequent post revealed the guest is married to the poster’s uncle.

A crowd of guests watched and smiled as the woman danced around in her gown, the bottom pinned up in the front to reveal white strapless stilettos, many onlookers filming the woman dancing on their phones.

“She once in the middle of my uncles funeral while I was crying told me that my eyebrows were uneven,” the woman said in the caption.

A large crowd of guests gathered around the dance floor to watch the woman in her white gown dancing. The photographer can also be seen snapping pictures of the guest.

While some users believed the guest was actually the bride, @imlostplsfindme posted a follow-up video showing her sister, the bride, a younger brunette in a completely different style of dress, walking with her new husband as guests cheer and toss flower petals.

More than 2,390 users commented on the video saying the woman was totally inappropriate and was intentionally trying to upstage the bride. Others even said if they were at the wedding, they would have thrown red wine on the gown.

“Send a bridesmaid over to ‘accidentally’ spill red wine on her dress,” one user wrote.

“The fact that everyone is hyping her up too is just another level of disrespect,” another user commented.

“Some people don’t understand that you get to push out people from your life that don’t need to be in your life. There’s no need to withstand people,” one comment read.

“This is why bridesmaids and groomsmen should carry around water guns with fabric dye,” another suggested.
