Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week Turned Charity Gala, When Fashion and Solidarity Collide

Breathtaking gowns from some of the world’s most influential designers, a historic backdrop under the Spanish stars, and a spotlight on one incredibly important charity. This year, The Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week was brilliantly transformed into the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week Gala 2021… and all we an say is wow – what an event to remember! Located at the famous landmark of the Magic Fountain of Montjuic, right outside the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, set the scene for a magical evening. The night was a celebration of love, fashion and togetherness – standing in solidarity with the #StopChildMarriage project by the non-profit Save the Children, an entity BBFW has collaborated with since 2020.

As opposed to the traditional bridal market of individual appointments, this year’s event featured all designers in one heart-stopping spectacle. From the sheer creativity in the presentations (Sophie et Voila and the ballet dancer!) to the awe-inspiring designs (the butterfly gown by Amelia Casablanca!) – there was just so much to celebrate!

Before we get to the gowns (trust us, they’re unlike any season yet), we’d like to take this opportunity to further touch on BBFW’s charitable partner, Save the Children. There are t two main reasons why we need to come together to protect young girls from forced marriages: 1) the size of the problem. This horrific situation affects 12 million girls yearly and 2) the frequency of the problem. Every 7 seconds a girl under the age of 15 enters into a forced marriage. We commend BBFW for partnered with such an incredible organization, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds!
