How bridesmaids can rock floral prints like Alia Bhatt &nbsp

When it’s about weddings, not just the bride but her bridesmaids, too, wish to look their best. But picking a bridesmaid attire is no cakewalk. While one doesn’t wish to overpower the bride, looking too simple is also not an option.

For almost every occasion, we look up to our beloved Bollywood celebrities for inspiration. And for bridesmaid outfits, you can take a cue from actress Alia Bhatt. The diva’s ethnic closet is full of vibrant and trendy outfits.

So, recently we caught up with celebrity designer Anushree Reddy, who recently completed 10 years in the industry, to get her expert style tips. She shared with us how can bridesmaid style floral prints just like Alia. Read on…

Talking about this evergreen pattern, the expert said, “Floral prints never go out of style and that’s the beauty of it! Be it a winter wedding or a summer one, florals can always be incorporated across light or dark shades. Day weddings, especially intimate affairs like the ones we celebrate now, are perfect for floral prints. They aren’t too heavy, flow gracefully in light silhouettes, giving the bridal look a delicate, feminine touch. Alia, too, adorned the green floral anarkali for a day-affair, which made it look vibrant in the sunlight and stand out beautifully.”

Further, sharing how can one recreate Alia’s anarkali look shared below, the designer said, “Recreating Alia’s anarkali look is fairly simple. Pair up your pista green anarkali with polki or kundan earrings, golden wedges, and let your hair down for the afternoon.”

“On another occasion, as a bridesmaid, Alia once again wore our creation, which was a floral lehenga and crop top set. It was a light pink lehenga decorated with pretty floral motifs in complementing shades of red and yellow. A matching crop top with ruffles completed her outfit. To not overdo the look or take away from the outfit, she accessorised with a huge ring and a potli bag. That’s a lovely look to recreate for an afternoon event too,” Anushree went on to say.

Further, when we asked the expert to share a few tips that bridesmaids should not make while styling floral prints, she said:

  1. Never pick a fabric and floral print that are almost the same shade, because it won’t be visible then, anyway.
  2. Choose contrasting colours like yellow on green, white on blue, and so on. If you’re keen on the same colour make sure your fabric is light and your flowers dark, or vice versa.
  3. Don’t pick florals that are too busy, because they might look overpowering.
  4. Florals work well for the day, especially when you have a casual affair. For anything too formal, avoid florals and go for the basics.
