This incredible, less-is-more styled shoot began at the lovely Carmel Mountain Ranch Estate. When planning as a couple, choosing an estate type venue is a great way to incorporate a sense of “home,” without missing a beat of luxury.
While the color purple is often toned down to light shades of periwinkle, or used as a background statement, our designers were inspired by the darker, moodier versions of this royal hue. When given its chance to shine, deep, monochromatic purples can absolutely hold their own!
Our lovely models, a real-life couple named Shelby and Vinny, met at a hotel where Vinny worked as a valet parking attendant. Shelby recalls the butterflies she felt when she met Vinny, and how they knew right away they had something special between them. During this shoot, both the butterfly-touched stationery and the Rolls Royce they are photographed in are nods to their own, true to life fairytale.
In tune with the not-so-traditional vibe this shoot presents, Shelby is shown in a gorgeously ruffled, purple-gray dress. These details inspired our bakers to create a cake that mirrored the things that made Shelby’s dress so special. The result was a perfectly delicate masterpiece, with white, purple, and blue ruffles that practically came to life as they danced their way to the top of the cake.
Finally, Shelby is shown gifting a guitar to Vinny. Once again as an affirmation of their love, the guitar is an untraditional gift that has a big impact on Vinny, who is actually a musician. Finding these out of the box, uniquely yours moments with your significant other are incredibly memorable, and sure to stand the test of time.
