NEWBURY TWP. – Carl Busse, age 80, of Newbury Township, passed away on Sept. 13, 2022.
He was born April 3, 1942, to Carl and Dorothy (nee Dines) Busse, in Cleveland.
Carl married Ann Marie Thomas on March 11, 1972. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran, Semper Fi.
He was a loving husband and father, fiercely devoted to and proud of his family. He was a man of deep honor and integrity, and a dear friend to many.
Carl enjoyed his homestead immensely. He loved working in the yard, walking in the woods and feeding the birds.
Carl also was a classic car enthusiast, enjoying the comradery it offered. He was a very social person and met with dear friends at Cinda’s Restaurant in Middlefield often. (His family thought he seemed to know or be related to everyone they came across!)
Carl is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Busse, of Newbury; daughter, Cari Ann (Dan) Agardi, of Dorset, Ohio; son, Carl Joseph (Kelly), of Avon Lake; grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony and Vincent Busse; sisters Kathleen Frost, of Middlefield, Martha Jones, of Norco, Calif.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members, whether by birth or marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Busse; sister Jeanne Gray; and nephews Thomas Busse Jr. and James Gray.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, from 4:30-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at the Newbury Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to treat a friend, senior citizen or veteran to lunch.
