Champagne tastings & wedding vendors on display at local Bridal Expo

PEORIA (25 News Now) – There was free champagne flowing and pastries galore at this year’s Bridal Expo held at Five points in Washington on Sunday.

Newly engaged couples and soon-to-be Brides had the opportunity to plan out their big day with vendors ranging from wedding dress stores, DJs, table decorators, 360 photo booths, and travel agencies assisting with honeymoon destinations.

We met one bride Charlotte Toohill who is busy working on her 200-guest wedding scheduled for this fall.

She told us this expo was perfect timing as she is planning an old-fashion classic country western-theme wedding at a barn in Rushville.

”I definitely needed to look for dance lessons, DJ, and a florist. There’s a lot of different things I didn’t even think about and was kind of talking to people and stuff and figure out what I needed to do,” explains Toohill, who was proposed to on Christmas 2021.

Putting all the pieces to create a dream wedding is not easy.

The event venue manager for five points says this expo is designed to take the stress out of the soon-to-beds.

”It’s a lot of work it’s a lot of stress, to get all of those components to come together to work the way you want it to work. The goal here is it’s a little bit more intimate. You can have conversations with the different vendors, so you know you’re getting what you want,” says Jennifer Seiler, the Event Venue Manager at Five Points Washington.

The women who attended today’s expo were also able to enter to win up to $500 off wedding packages and venue fees.
