Chardon Early Learning Center kindergarten classes host academic wedding – News-Herald

The Chardon Early Learning Center’s kindergarten classes hosted an academic wedding ceremony in the school’s gymnasium on Dec. 3 for the marriage of the alphabet letters Q and U played by kindergarten students Leah Schaedlich and Colton Jameson, respectively.

The event, designed as a fun and fancy activity to reinforce learning that the two letters are always united in the English language, was officiated by school coordinator Andrea Ryan and was complete with a runner-adorned aisle, congratulatory signs, and a display of colorful cupcakes for later enjoyment by all. District special education supervisor Ryan Bandiera served as the ceremony’s ring bearer.

As a recording of Pachelbel’s Canon played in the background, attending kindergarten students and staff arrived at the ceremony dressed as the other letters of the alphabet and brought non-perishable food donations as gifts. The donations were later distributed to the Pilgrim Christian Church food pantry in Chardon.

Educational assistant Anne Paul strummed the guitar and led the attendants in singing the school’s Tiny Toppers Promise Song for both the processional and recessional. The song, written byPaul, provides a friendly tune for students to promise to always be kind, safe and do their best.
