Deborah “Deb” Merle Coleman, 74, of Robins, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home. A private family burial to follow.

Deb was born on Nov. 21, 1947, in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of Calvin and Betty Lou (Cline) Bemiss. She graduated from North Fayette High School before working for the Alburnett Community Schools. On Sept. 12, 1970, Deb was united in marriage to Stan Coleman in West Union. Deb adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful seamstress, pouring her time into altering wedding gowns, making dance and countless Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren. Deb will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Deb is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Stan Coleman; mother, Betty Lou Bemiss of Fayette, Iowa; children, Eric (Kari) Coleman of Johnston, Iowa, Amy (Thomas) Wright of Monticello, Iowa, and Stacey (Chad) Regennitter of Marion; 13 grandchildren; and brother, Kurt Bemiss of West Union.

She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Bemiss; and daughter, Carrie Anne Coleman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed to charities of Deb’s choosing, which include, the music programs at Johnston High School, Monticello High School and Marion High School, MS Society, No Foot Too Small and Mercy Hospital.
