Havens Hospice is auctioning off wedding dresses to help raise vital funds for the care it offers.

With the summer wedding season fast approaching, brides-to-be could find their dream dress at a fraction of the recommended retail price, while also donating money to a worthy cause.

Generously donated by Confetti and Lace Bridal Boutique in Lakeside Shopping Centre, the hospice will be holding online Ebay auctions to sell the dresses.

Listings are open to everyone and the auctions will go live from 8pm on Thursday, February 17, ending on Sunday, February 27.

The mixture of new and ex-display gowns will have starting prices from as little as £24.99, with sizes ranging from UK 10-22.

To help promote the online wedding dress auction, the trading team at the charity created a promotional photoshoot with the support of local hairdressers, make-up artists, models and photographers.

The photoshoot took place at wedding venue The Boundary, in Southend, Essex, with everyone involved donating their time for free.

Sarah Schubert, e-commerce manager at Havens Hospices said: “Havens Hospices is incredibly lucky to have such amazing supporters like Confetti and Lace donating these beautiful wedding dresses in support of our care.

“Brides could be walking down the aisle in sought-after wedding dress brands including Sophia Tolli and Justin Alexander and paying a fraction of the price. We know how expensive weddings can be so by bidding on one of these dresses will not only save you money but you’ll also be shopping sustainably and supporting your local hospice charity at the same time.”

With bases in both Benfleet and Southend, the Havens charity provides palliative nursing and supportive care to adults and children living with complex or incurable conditions.

All proceeds raised from the eBay auction will help fund the charity’s free specialist hospice care to people of all ages across Essex.
