Veterans, military, and first responders will have the chance to tie the knot for free next month during a Vows for Veterans expo hosted by Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court Linda Bobrin.

Under-Secretary of the Army Patrick J. Murphy will officiate the weddings Nov. 12 in the courtyard of the Bucks County Administration Building, 55 East Court Street, Doylestown. The event runs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

At least one person in the couple must be a veteran, serving in the military or a first responder.

Accompanying the free wedding ceremonies will be a photographer, flowers, live music, party favors, as well as lunch and cake.

As an extra “thank you” to the county’s veterans and first responders, the first six couples who sign up for the free ceremony will receive gift certificates for a one night stay at Holly Hedge Estate in Lumberville, Bucks Count, courtesy the owner of the Holly Hedge Estate.

Residents are encouraged to attend to take part in the celebration. Vendors from veteran-owned businesses including wedding services, legal services, veterans’ affairs and more resources also will be available.

Couples who wish to participate in the free ceremony must submit a valid marriage application by Nov. 9. For more information, contact emarriage@buckscounty.org.

Interested vendors and guests can email Rachael Landsberg at ralandsberg@buckscounty.org, or call 215-340-8268.

In addition, the Register of Wills until Veterans Day is offering discounted marriage licenses to veterans and first responders for $20.50 after a partial refund. In past years, the office has offered marriage licenses at a reduced cost of $60 instead of $80.
