Pets Lifeline: Pets Lifeline has set its official opening day as Thursday, July 8. Its new hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The center has staff onsite seven days a week to care for the animals and to take in stray and abandoned cats and dogs.

Wine education: Sonoma State University has teamed up with a handful of wine brands to launch the Wine Business Institute’s Inclusive Excellence Program. Using $1 million in funding from partner wineries, the program will establish a cohort of students from underrepresented backgrounds who, through scholarships, internships, and mentoring programs, will be guided toward successful executive-level careers in the wine business. sbe.sonoma.edu/about/inclusive-excellence.
Expanded service: Sonoma County Airport Express now offers 10 roundtrips daily between Sonoma County and SFO airport. Its Oakland airport shuttle is back up to seven roundtrips each day.
Expansion: Sonoma Raceway has broken ground on an upgraded hospitality facility overlooking the hairpin Turn 11. The Turn 11 Club will offer “a premium, luxury hospitality and viewing experience.” The existing Turn 11 building, which was the original raceway administration building and the oldest building on property, was demolished last week and construction of the new façade will continue throughout the summer and fall months. A formal unveiling of the hospitality area will take place prior to the 2022 Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series weekend.
Sonoma Fit news: Sonoma Fit is back offering unlimited child care for ages 2-10. The service is free for its Platinum members and $10 per child for regular members. 19310 Sonoma Highway. New sparkling partnership: Amigas Cuvée is a new collaboration now available from Honrama Cellars and Llamas Family Wines. The 200-case run is the brainchild of two Latina friends, Miriam Puentes, co-owner of Honrama Cellars, and Lola Llamas, co-owner of Llamas Family Wines, both in Carneros. The cuvée is a 60% pinot noir, 40% chardonnay blend from grapes grown in the Los Carneros AVA.

New partnership: Charlie’s Acres farm animal rescue center in Sonoma has partnered with Danielly’s Fitness to offer a four-day Integrative Wellness Retreat centered on animal-assisted therapy. The program will focus on healing negative emotions and promoting empowerment. The money raised will go toward expanding Charlie’s Acres’ animal assisted therapy program and partnerships with nonprofits so that they can continue to offer these services for free to at-risk youth and adults with developmental disabilities. charliesacres.org.
