Hallmark’s ‘The Wedding Veil Expectations’ (2023): Trilogy Cast, Plot, Release Date

Last year, Hallmark Channel premiered The Wedding Veil trilogy of movies starring Lacey Chabert, Autumn Reeser, and Alison Sweeney. Much to no one’s surprise, the trilogy of films revolving around three friends and an antique wedding veil quickly became a fan favorite. Now, Hallmark Channel unveils a new chapter in The Wedding Veil series with three new movies this month.

What is The Wedding Veil series?

The Wedding Veil movies follow three college friends who reunite once a year for an antiquing weekend getaway in different cities. They come across an antique wedding veil which carries its own legend—whoever is in possession of the veil will find true love. The three decide to buy the veil together and as it is passed from friend to friend, each finds love when they are the keeper of the veil.

How many Wedding Veil movies are there?

There are currently six movies in The Wedding Veil series. The first trilogy of movies premiered last year and the second trilogy premieres January 2023 on Hallmark Channel.

What is The Wedding Veil Expectations about?

In this first movie in the sequel trilogy, Avery (Lacey Chabert) and her husband Peter (Kevin McGarry) are in the midst of renovating the old house they’ve purchased, which is proving to be a bigger undertaking than they anticipated. Avery has some exciting news to share with him but is waiting for just the right moment. Meanwhile, Avery’s mother-in-law Grace (Karen Kruper) reconnects with a former beau, and Peter has concerns. Between that, the pitfalls of remodeling and navigating the politics of having a new boss at the museum, Avery is lucky to have Emma (Autumn Reeser) and Tracy (Alison Sweeney), who offer support from afar as well as in person, when they decide a video chat won’t suffice.

Meet the cast of The Wedding Veil Expectations

Lacey Chabert (Avery)

Chabert has starred in over 30 films for Hallmark Media, including her most recent Christmas film, Haul Out the Holly. She also does extensive voiceover work, including voicing Eliza Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys and Meg Griffin in Family Guy.

Autumn Reeser (Emma)

Reeser has starred in over a dozen films for Hallmark and has also appeared on various televisions shows including Valentine, which also starred oft-seen Hallmark star, Kristoffer Polahah.

Alison Sweeney (Tracy)

Sweeney got her start in entertainment at the age of 5 when she appeared in a Kodak commercial. Along with her long-term role as Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives, Sweeney also spent over 10 seasons as the host of The Biggest Loser. Along with her many fan-favorite Hallmark films, Sweeney also stars in the Murder, She Baked and Chronicle Mysteries series of films for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Kevin McGarry (Peter)

McGarry stars as Mountie Nathan Grant on Hallmark Channel’s popular When Calls the Heart series. He also had a long-running stint on Heartland. He previously starred in My Grown-Up Christmas List and Feeling Butterflies, both opposite Kayla Wallace, his When Calls the Heart co-star. The two recently got engaged in real life!
