Huntington Library Pairs With Flower Duet to Offer Flower Arranging Class – Pasadena Weekendr

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, in partnership with Flower Duet, a much sought-after Los Angeles florist who designs event and wedding flowers, is offering a flower arranging class for mixed pine and botanic garlands on Wednesday, December 1, in person and outdoors from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

“Take inspiration from the plethora of garlands all around The Huntington. Look around and you’ll see them adorning statues like the allegorical figure in the garden of Ceres, the goddess of agriculture. Garlands also adorn The Huntington’s vase collection of porcelain vases, drawings, and paintings,” The Huntington said in an announcement of the event.

The hands-on class will feature mixed evergreens, berries, pine cones, and ribbon to design a garland that can be hung or laid on a table.

Classes will be held with space between each workstation to allow for social distancing. Each workstation will be set up so as not to share any tools or supplies between participants.

All unvaccinated participants must remain masked for the duration of the program. Masks are also required by all participants when entering indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status.

Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, class capacity is limited and there will be no waitlist for this program. The registration fee includes free admission to The Huntington following the class for in-person class participants. It also includes all supplies and materials for the hands-on class.

Tickets are from $80 to $95. To purchase tickets, visit www.huntington.org/events/flower-arranging-mixed-pine.
