Star Cary Elwes brings an insider look at life on the set of classic cult film “The Princess Bride,” which will be screened prior to his program at the Gallo Center. It’s just one of the entertainment options in the Modesto region planned for Oct. 8-14, including the Riverbank Cheese & Wine Festival.

Cary Elwes, star of the iconic film “The Princess Bride,” offers a behind-the-scenes look at life on and off the set of the movie. At the Gallo Center, after a screening of the film, Elwes will join in a moderated discussion with Ian Riley of KHOP 95.1, revealing tales of antics on set.

Cheese and wine
The popular fall celebration returns as Riverbank presents its Cheese & Wine Festival. There will be multiple wine-tasting sessions each day, along with craft beer and cheese tastings, arts and crafts vendors and more.

Harvest Festifall
Crafts, food, demonstrations, music and more arrive at Columbia State Historic Park with the Harvest Festifall event. Vendors dressed in 1850s attire will display their handmade arts and crafts and baked goods. There will be demonstrations by the Mother Lode Weavers & Spinners, face painting and children’s activities.
