Isis & Jim’s Big Floral Greek Wedding

Isis and Kim‘s wedding day revolved around the “sunset, sunset, sunset” with bursts of hot pinks, sizzling oranges, and passionate reds. The couple were married at the water-side Ios Club in the magnificent Cyclades Greek Islands which they say echoed their home country of Lebanon. The sunset was symbolic for this couple, as to them it truly embodied everything they wanted their wedding to be; chilled-out, bright, and heartwarming. While they felt that their Greek wedding offered an island landscape that mirrored their homeland, their vibrant colours and lavish cocktails were evocative of the liveliness of New York – they met in Astoria Queens and have since settled down together in the Big Apple. The colourful magic of their day was captured by Magdalena Kourti. Let’s take a look!

Their proposal story sounds like a total fairytale. During the most picture-perfect time of the year, cherry blossom season, Jim and Isis were wandering in the botanical garden in Brooklyn admiring the gentle white and pink petals flourishing on the trees when Jim got down on one knee. He popped the question and of course, Isis said yes!

We love the delicate drama of this gown. Isis looked like a Greek goddess with detachable organza sleeves and sweetheart neckline with pops of sparkle shaped like fireworks.

Bursts of colour were popping all over this venue! Isis says, “I love colours! I wanted a blast of colours everywhere”. From the azure blue of the scintillating Aegean Sea, to the hot pink, baby blush, soft blue in Isis’ bouquet, Jim’s coral pink tie, her bright, geometric ceremony backdrop, it was all a riot of fun hues.

Can’t Help Falling in Love With You by Haley Reinhart is the song that encapsulated their entire day and their relationship, and it was played as Isis walked down the aisle, setting the tone for what was an emotional ceremony and reception filled with passionate speeches from their loved ones.

Shimmer in the sunlight! As this wedding day revolved around perfect sunsets, after chasing the sun for her Greek-style wedding, Isis reveals that: “Blue hour was unreal”.

In this idyllic setting, it’s easy to understand the appeal of an island destination wedding in a place like Greece. This beautiful arena allowed Isis and Jim to take centre stage for an intimate, casual photoshoot that captures both their laidback personalities and their love for each other.

Totally obsessed with the laidback beach club wedding vibe, not to mention those pink macrame keyring wedding favours which worked beautifully with the wow macrame installation overhead at the reception tables.

As showstopping as this styling was, Isis and Jim made the effort to have a super relaxed approach on their wedding day; there was no assigned seating, no schedule and according to them, “no limitations”. Isis encourages any future brides and grooms to stay calm and set realistic expectations. Her rule is, “don’t seek perfection”.

Amongst the twinkling lights and rattan chandeliers, exuberant florals, and the Grecian sunset, the pair were welcomed to the reception by family and friends who were beaming with a shared happiness as they cut their luscious buttercream wedding cake. The bubbles were a very cute touch!

As the sun went down, Isis and Jim took to the dancefloor with their 50 guests as a DJ blasted tunes. The fun in the sun didn’t stop there since after their wedding, our couple jetted off to Tuscany and Portugal for more sun and relaxation on their honeymoon.

We would like to say a special thank you to our couple Isis and Jim and of course, to their dedicated photographer Magdalena Kourti who captured their wedding day beautifully.
