Jane Whitman

Jane L. Whitman, 77, of Lock Haven, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Oct. 13, 1944 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Doris L. Chilcot Walizer.

Jane was a 1962 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

She was married to Frederick H. Whitman, who preceded her in death.

Jane retired as an Emergency Dispatcher at the Clinton County Communication Center after over 21 years of service. In addition, she owned and operated Jane’s Touch of Class Beauty Salon for 40 years.

Jane also volunteered for the non-profit Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament in Florida for 12 years.

Jane enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her house was a gathering place for many years. She also enjoyed painting ceramics and making wedding flowers for family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, David W. (Tami) Emel, of Flemington, and Mike (Amy) Krott, of Texas; four siblings, Barbara Winner of Lock Haven, Richard (Linda) Walizer, Jr. of Harrisburg, William (Heather) Walizer of Florida and Rita Walizer Contos of Florida; three grandchildren, Kortnie L. Emel and Julie M. Emel, both of Flemington, and Blaine Krott of Bradford; and two great-grandchildren, Kristi Lynn Fogleman and Harper Everett Emel, both of Flemington.

She is also survived by her step-children, Jeffrey (Robin) Whitman, Debra Whitman, Valerie (Tim) McAndrew, Craig (Penny) Whitman, Christy (Gerard) Vinski, and their children.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Duane Alan Walizer and Tammi Jo Emel.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa., with Pastor Rick Conklin officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Susquehanna Health Home Care and Hospice, Williamsport, and the SPCA, Lock Haven.
