Jess Redden shares unseen snaps of her wedding cake as she declares she married her best friend

Jess Redden has shared a snap of her stunning wedding cake, as she declares husband Rob Kearney as her best friend.

he 28-year-old took to Instagram to share an end of year round up.

“2021 started pretty bleak,” she wrote, sharing a picture of food she had to eat during quarantine last January when she moved to Perth.

“But I had this hero as the best iso buddy,” she continued.

She shared lots of snaps of her year as she enjoyed golfing, surfing and delicious meals.

“Married my best friend,” she captioned another picture as she walked back down the aisle after marrying Rob Kearney earlier this month.

Jess also reposted a snap of her gorgeous blue and white wedding cake made by Cork baker Tracy Desmond Bell, who also made wedding cakes for fellow Rugby star TJ Reid and influencer Lauren Arthurs.

Other fine details of the wedding included tables named after their favourite spots in Perth, Australia, where the couple lived earlier this year while Rob played rugby for Western Force.

Her bouquet of flowers paid tribute to her late father, who died last September. The bouquet of white roses featured a silver locket containing a picture of her dad.

Jess’s wedding dress also had a secret inscription in blue that read “My darling dad, forever in my heart.”

Jess and Rob tied the knot at Trump Hotel Doonbeg in Co. Clare on December 3rd.

The couple jetted off on their honeymoon just days after the wedding but after being struck with Covid-19, Jess was forced to self isolate for most of their holiday.

Taking to social media, she shared: “First day of honeymoon before it all kicked off. I was taking a break from social media and was in two minds about posting what’s been happening but like other subjects, I feel it’s important to shine a light on and talk openly about.”

“After two days away, we got news that we were close contacts so had to isolate, then my PCR test confirmed I had Covid so 10 days of isolation,” she said.

“Felt every emotion and certainly not the honeymoon we had planned. Just glad that everyone I love is safe.”

She later revealed that he doesn’t regret any of her wedding weekend despite catching the virus.

“I wouldn’t take anything back the weekend we had; it was everything I’ve ever dreamt of and so much more.”

“I could have waited until I finished my placement but I really just wanted a break from work and a holiday with my husband post-wedding,” she continued.

“We’re all in uncharted territory so just trying to do the best we can.”

“Felt awful to miss work but so many of us are in the same boat – trying to practice what I always preach and just be gentle and kind to myself – hope you guys are all keeping safe and well.”

The couple’s wedding was originally planned for June 2021 however they moved it forward to November 2020 after Jess’s father, Brian Redden, was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Sadly, the 70-year-old passed away in September 2020 and did not see his daughter make it down the aisle.

Rob and Jess got engaged on New Year’s Eve 2019 while on holiday in New York.

The romantic proposal saw the 35-year-old getting down on one knee amid the hustle and bustle of Times Square.

He popped the question with an oval sapphire silver ring adorned with diamonds.
