Jewel Toned Fig House Wedding

All weddings make us smile, but there’s nothing like a little color to brighten our Mondays right up, and this Fig House wedding coming to us from Elli Lauren Weddings and Blue Moon Event Planning sure does the trick. Former pro soccer player Bianca, and Crystal, who manages a local dance studio, knew something upbeat and bright repped their personalities best, so they chose to play off the venue’s bold jewel tones. And what better way to get guests dancing than to sprinkle disco balls throughout?!

Floral designer Domonique Rose brought the bold jewel toned color palette to life by adding lots of color and contrast to the florals.

Crystal says, My most memorable moment was definitely the first look. Not only did Bianca surprise me with her custom ORANGE suit, which was amazing, but it was the moment where we got to just bask in this incredible thing that we did. We worked so hard to make this day ours and it was like being backstage before a performance. We got to share that time where it was just us before the craziness and I’ll always be so grateful for that.

And for Bianca: It’s hard to top seeing Crystal walking down the aisle. We had a crazy year, with both of us starting new jobs and navigating a few things on the personal side. To see her and know that we finally made it, and that the day had already surpassed my wildest expectations… Really hit me in the best way.

Even though it is in the middle of Highland Park, The Fig House still felt like an escape from the city side of it all because you’re completely surrounded by greenery once you’re in there. It felt really special to walk through the main entrance and completely forget that you’re in the middle of LA.

We’re also a very quirky, colorful couple (when we met we had purple and blue hair), so the eclectic color palette of the indoor area was something we connected with. We always said the main focus for us was having an incredible dance floor where people could have an amazing time and feel comfortable just letting loose. The Fig House felt like it was a space that could handle that energy from the moment we walked in there.

After wearing her Rime Arodaky jumpsuit during the ceremony, Crystal changed into her mom’s 80s prom dress for some epic dance moments:

Final notes from our couple…

We booked the venue in September of the year prior, so it took us just over a year to plan it. The biggest hurdle for us to overcome was just always remembering the why behind what we were doing, and the main factors that were important to us on the big day. Knowing that our focus was to have the day be a joyous celebration with people dancing their butts off made it easier to make decisions around where our budget should go to create that. Crystal is a freak in the spreadsheets (she should be an event planner herself), and that helped us stay on top of where we were spending and what deadlines were coming up. It’s not easy to plan a wedding, and our biggest tip would be to remember that you’re in it together. Find out what is important to both of you, and have that vision guide how you’re making decisions about what the day should look like.

Cheers to Bianca and Crystal!
