Kourtney Kardashian flew to Italy to try on her custom wedding dress for the first time before her wedding to Travis Barker—and BAZAAR.com got the exclusive first look at the magical moment.
In the video, which was filmed for Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kourtney is seen trying on the dress and veil while in Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan offices with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, and best friend Stephanie Shepherd.
Once it’s on, she FaceTimes mom Kris Jenner to show her how it looks.
“Isn’t it cool? You can’t really see me, but look, it’s short,” Kourtney says as she turns the camera to the dress.
The one-of-a-kind Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda minidress was inspired by Italian lingerie and featured a silky corseted bodice and lace detailing throughout. Kourtney styled the piece with a dramatic, hand-embroidered veil featuring floral lace appliqués meant to mimic by the flowers of the nearby Portofino gardens and a large depiction of the Virgin Mary with the words family, loyalty, and respect—the image and words were inspired by Travis’s tattoos. She finished the unexpected bridal look with tulle opera gloves and white lace pumps.
“Oh, my god,” Kris tells her eldest daughter upon seeing her in the dress. “You look like a little doll. Oh, my goodness, Kourt. You look so beautiful. I wanna cry.”
The camera then catches a glimpse of Kourtney’s phone screen, where Kris is seen speaking from her bathroom.
“I never thought I would be looking at you in a wedding dress naked in the shower,” the momager jokes.
“I love you, honey. I hope you’re having the best time,” she adds.
“We are. I love you. We’ll send pics,” Kourtney replies.
An assistant then shows Kourtney the sketch Dolce & Gabbana made of their design for her, which she says she loves.
“Are you happy?” Kourtney’s stylist, Dani Michelle, asks.
“Yeah!” the Poosh founder responds.
Kourtney then hugs Domenico and thanks him for the beautiful piece.
“I think he made it perfection. I’m super happy,” she tells her entourage.
Looking at her friend in the dress, Stephanie gets emotional.
“I can’t believe … I was like, ‘Oh, my god, she’s in her wedding dress.’ I never thought I’d see the day,” she says.
“I know, I know,” Kourtney says with a smile. “I never thought … there would be a reason.”
Kourtney—who dated the father of her three kids, Scott Disick, for nearly 10 years before falling for Travis—previously said she never even considered getting married until she began dating her now husband. The two longtime friends got engaged in October 2021 after less than a year of dating and married in a lavish Portofino, Italy, ceremony in May 2022 (following a hilariously spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony, which Kourtney barely remembers, and which ended up not being official). Now, they are trying to grow their blended family.
