LENA LOU WITT | News, Sports, Jobs

Lena Lou (Krafczik) Witt, 64, of Alpena, is rejoicing today in heaven with her Lord and Savior. She passed away Nov. 10, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

Lena was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on Jan. 7, 1957, to the late Lorie and Opal (Sloan) Krafczik. She married the love of her life, Gary Witt, on Aug. 28, 1976. For Lena it was love at first sight, and she and Gary were privileged to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary this past fall.

Lena shared her infectious laugh and joy with all who knew her. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Briley, and looked forward to the birth of a second grandchild next spring. She was known for her fondness for all children, and many young adults today remember her as their fun and loving childcare provider. She especially enjoyed family dinners, music, playing games or cards, and camping with friends and family. Her faith in God sustained her always, and she counted herself blessed to be affiliated with both Huron Shores Fellowship and New Life Christian Fellowship.

Lena is survived by her loving husband, Gary, children Tracie (Jeff) Papin, Kristi Witt, Jeff (Katie) Witt, granddaughter Briley, sister Sharon Kay Niemann, brother Roger (Betty Jo Schultz) Krafczik, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Proceeding her in death was a brother-in-law, Charlie Niemann.

Memorial visitation will take place Sunday at 2-6 p.m. at Huron Shores Fellowship and will continue on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Hoffman officiating. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. Streaming will be available at huronshoresfellowship.org

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Huron Shores Fellowship – Children’s Programs.
