Former MAFS star Domenica Calarco has defended this year’s ‘villain’ Tayla Winter.

The 27-year-old nurse, who has been paired with Hugo Armstrong, has copped backlash for saying her husband is ‘not a man’s man’ and making him sleep on the couch during their honeymoon.

Domenica told Yahoo on Monday she believes Tayla has been given the ‘worst edit’ of all the brides and isn’t being portrayed accurately.

‘I know she has just come in but I personally think she maybe is being portrayed in the wrong way because of certain things she says and how she acts,’ she said.

‘Not giving her free rein because she was very mean to Hugo, but I think there’s a lot more there.’

It comes after Tayla and her husband Hugo made several bombshell claims about the show.

In a behind-the-scenes video leaked to the MAFS Gossip Instagram page, the intruder couple claimed everything you see on screen is ‘very directed’.

‘Anything of substance, we’re only allowed to do that in front of [the camera crew] while they see what we say. It’s really weird,’ said Hugo.

Tayla agreed, adding: ‘We have not been able to talk [privately]. We are checked on to see if we are actually talking.’

‘We’re very directed in what we have to say and filming doesn’t stop because we are being held accountable for the characters we are supposed to be,’ she added.

Hugo also claimed Tayla ‘is not as mean’ as she is portrayed on the show.

The leaked video follows an unfortunate editing fail on last Monday’s episode.

During Tayla and Hugo’s wedding, eagle-eyed fans noticed the guest walking the bride down the aisle was wearing an earpiece in his left ear.

While the device was hidden, it became visible when he turned his head to the side while walking Tayla towards her new groom.

Reality stars often wear earpieces during filming so they can receive instructions from producers.
