Mary A Gifford
Mary Gifford, 90, of San Marcos, Calif., passed away at her home on Oct. 4, 2022, which coincided with her 70 th wedding anniversary. She was born in Meadville, Pa., on May 18, 1932 to Joseph and Mary Cervone.
Mary graduated from Jamestown High School in 1950 and went on to raise a family in Lakewood, N.Y., with her husband, Bill until they moved to Southern California in 1976.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William and her son, William Jr.
She is survived by her four daughters: Kathy Jenkins (John) of Rancho Bernardo, Calif., Mary Beth Meyers (James) of Dewey, Ariz., Teresa Hayden (Richard) of Homeland, Calif., and Debra Brunk (Robert) of San Marcos, Ca. She was grandmother to 16 and great-grandmother to 28.
During her 90-year life she worked in the office at Lakewood Elementary School in Lakewood, N.Y. until 1976, and then retired in 1993 from Woodland Park School in San Marcos, Calif.
Mary’s love of crafts produced many afghan’s, needlepoint, and other crafts that are still treasured by the family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 9, 2022, at St. Marks Catholic Church in San Marcos, Calif. Cemetery services will follow at 1 p.m., at Miramar National Cemetery, Miramar, Calif.
