Miss Harrison, York plannning August 27 wedding ceremony in Oxford

Dr. and Mrs. Scott Edwin Harrison of Oxford announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashleigh Taylor Harrison to John Harrison York, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snyder York III of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert Brent Harrison of Jackson and Mrs. Matthew Johnson Sr. and the late Mr. Johnson of Eunice, La. 

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Thomas Harrison Benton and the late Mr. Benton, the late Neva Cook Benton, all of Baton Rouge, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snyder York Jr. of Jackson. 

Miss Harrison is a 2013 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in 2017 graduating summa cum laude. She also earned her doctorate of audiology from the University of Memphis in 2021 and will join the University of Mississippi Medical Center this summer as a clinical audiologist.    

York is a 2008 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012. Upon graduation he worked in New York City with Deloitte Consulting and Future Leaders Institute Charter School. He returned to Jackson in 2019 and is involved in community development finance.

The couple will exchange wedding vows on August 27 in Oxford and make their home in Jackson.
