Everything looked picture-perfect for Marc Anthony and his bride Nadia Ferreira during their wedding ceremony this past weekend – starting with the custom-made wedding dress worn by the former beauty queen.
On Saturday (January 28), the couple was married during a private ceremony held at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami. For the ceremony, Ferreira wore a dress designed by Galia Lahav.
Along with Anthony’s brides, Lahav has also designed dresses for celebrities like Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, and Beyoncé. Lahav also notably made the bridal gown for Jennifer Lopez, Anthony’s ex-wife, to wear in her new romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding.
According to Galia Lahav, 28 dresses were made in just one month for the movie in collaboration with costume designer Mitchell Travers. “Everything is handmade,” said Galia Lahav’s head designer Sharon Sever about the dress that gets absolutely demolished as the movie goes on. “All these tiny little drapes on each corset, and each strap and each sleeve, everything was made by hand.”
According to Hola, who had an exclusive first look at Ferreira’s wedding dress, the bride chose a gown that featured “a sweetheart neckline bustier and a long tulle skirt with embroidery.” Ferreira also wore an embroidered lace bolero jacket to match the dress. Hola notes that a dress like the one worn by Ferreira would take approximately 122 hours to make.
Ferreira also chose a second gown to wear at the reception. Hola described her party dress as “a seductive and sophisticated model with a sweetheart neckline and short skirt with a tulle insert on the back.”
Ultimately, both Ferreira and JLo just have good taste.
Getting nearly as much attention as Ferreira at the ceremony and reception was Oscar nominee and wedding guest Salma Hayek (Frida). She wore an aqua-green dress designed by Giambattista Valli that included gemstones on the neckline and matching accessories.
“Thank you dear, Salma,” Nadia Ferreira wrote to the actress on her Instagram page. “We had an amazing time!!!”
