Nensi Dojaka, who has made sexy dresses and lingerie aesthetics her fashion signatures, is now introducing a bridal capsule collection in collaboration with Mytheresa. The highly anticipated premiere of the Nensi Dojaka x Mytheresa wedding collection

Although brides-to-be (and their guests) have long been yearning for a Nensi Dojaka wedding collection, it wasn’t until one of her own friends’ weddings last year that she would dare to say “I do.” The designer, armed with her own exuberant brand of femininity, has come up with a fresh approach to wedding codes. This new capsule features figure-hugging wedding dresses complete with sensual straps and layers of sheer fabric, as well as sequined evening gowns, airy mini-dresses, edgy corset-and-pant ensembles and sleek tailoring. The key ingredient? The designer’s signature lingerie style, which is still very much present, even in her bridal pieces. As for color, white and off-white lace run shoulders with soft pink to produce shades that are enhanced by the wearer’s natural skin tone to create a final look where sensuality reigns supreme.

Vogue France. How did you come up with the idea of making your own wedding dresses?

Nensi Dojaka. “A lot of people expected us to do wedding dresses and have been asking if we offer custom wedding dresses so it felt right when the Mytheresa team came up with this proposal.

How did you adapt your signature style to the bridal world?

We have been developing evening dresses for a while now and it was about bringing those codes to a bridal context.

How did you collaborate with Mytheresa on this bridal collection?

They have a very clear understanding of what brides usually expect and what’s missing in the market, so with their feedback, we built a nice range to offer.

Thanks to your vision, the bridal world is becoming more and more sensual. What does a wedding symbolize for you?

I find weddings a very pure thing. They’re a celebration of love which is the purest emotion someone can feel for another individual. So I think a wedding dress deserves finesse and delicacy and hence, sensuality.

Which celebrity wedding inspired you?

Kate Moss‘s dress by Galliano was very good. It respected the body. It had sheerness on the legs and a beautiful train.

What are your favorite pieces from this collection, and why?

Aside from the lace dresses, I also love the sequin corset. I think it’s super cool for a more relaxed wedding or for a wedding after-party.

Which outfit would you imagine yourself getting married in?

Probably the strapless sequined dress.

What would you say to any brides-to-be who might be hesitant to wear a Nensi Dojaka wedding dress out of fear of shocking their family on their wedding day?

Weddings are about the couple and their wishes. It shouldn’t be about what others expect and if a bride finds something beautiful, I’d tell her to go for it. Embrace your taste, your figure and enjoy yourself.”

The first Nensi Dojaka wedding collection will be released on February 22, 2023 on the Mytheresa.com website
