Roger R. Perreault

AUBURN – Roger R. Perreault, 74: It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather “Buelo” on July 12, 2022, with his wife and two daughters on his side.

Roger was born on Oct. 7, 1947, in Lewiston, Maine, to Edgar Perreault and Lucille Perreault (Desjardins). Roger attended local catholic schools and was a graduate of St. Dom’s class of 1965.

In 1968 he started his career with the United States Air Force where his first assignment brought him to Madrid, Spain where he met his wife Maria. They were married in Spain on April 30, 1972, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Madrid, Spain.

Roger retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant in December of 1988 serving 20 years and one day “to be exact” with various achievements.

Once back in Maine, Roger went to work at Bath Iron Works where he was employed until 2000. In 2001, he started his service as Parking Enforcement Officer for the Auburn Police Department where he was honored to be part of the community. Roger retired from APD in 2011 and took on his next role as grandfather.

Roger was active in the youth bowling programs, first at Holiday Lanes and then at Sparetime. In 1997, Coach Roger was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame and had a Scholarship Fund in his name.

Roger also bowled and was an avid New England sports fan and was fortunate to catch a Bruins game this past October.

His favorite pastime were his beloved grandchildren he looked forward to his Friday McDonalds lunch date and the annual trip to Cabbage Island.

Roger is survived by his wife, Maria of 50 years. Daughters, Elizabeth Perreault and partner Jim Hinxman, Angela and husband David Crump and grandchildren, Jonathan, David, Elizabeth, and Abigail. Sisters, Priscille and husband Mike Parrott, Lisa and husband Paul Morin, his brother Dan Perreault, and wife Veronica. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins around the world, along with a special aunt Lorraine.

Roger was predeceased by his parents Edgar and Lucille, his brother Gilles and wife Sue Perreault.

The family would like to thank all the first responders, CMMC Emergency and Androscoggin Hospice House for the compassionate atmosphere for Roger to take his last breath.

Per Roger’s request a Mass with be held to celebrate his legacy at St. Peters Basilica in Lewiston at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 22. A burial with military honors will be done in the future for family and friends.
