Princess Kate’s best red carpet looks – including her ‘revenge choker’ moment

As a senior member of the Royal Family, Kate, Princess of Wales is often required to dress up for glitzy evening occasions like film premieres and award shows. Last week the Princess joined Prince William for the second Earthshot Prize in Boston, USA, and she certainly pulled out all the stops. Here are some of Kate’s most memorable red carpet looks from over the years.

Kate’s green dress – Boston 2022

Kate stunned in a bright green dress by Solace London at the Earthshot Prize 2022. Fitting with the eco-friendly ethos of the event, the dress was rented for the night from the online platform Hurr.

Kate paired the dress with a pair of sparkling Gianvito Rossi heels, but the pièce de résistance was her emerald necklace.

Queen Mary’s Art Deco Emerald Choker was previously worn by Princess Diana, and Kate had never worn it publicly until her outing Stateside this month.

Social media users dubbed it the ‘revenge choker’ as Kate decided to wear it a day after Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex released their bombshell trailer for their new Netflix docu-series.

She paired the dress with Oscar de la Renta heels and Kiki McDonough earrings, and she styled her hair off to one side in waves.

Kate’s forest green dress – London 2018

Kate, Princess of Wales was pregnant with her third child Prince Louis when she attended the BAFTAs in 2018, and her outfit was carefully considered in light of industry protests.

Female attendees had been urged to wear black to the event in solidarity with the Time’s Up campaign, but as a member of the Royal Family, Kate is expected to remain politically neutral.

While Kate didn’t wear black to the event, she did wear a dark green Jenny Packham gown cinched with a black belt, and she carried a black purse.

Kate’s bardot dress – London 2017

Kate wowed royal fans with her outfit at yet another BAFTAs in 2017, opting for another Alexander McQueen gown.

The dress featured white and green floral motifs which stood out against the black satin of the dress. The bardot neckline was a particularly unique choice for Kate.

She carried a black clutch bag and wore a pair of matching patterned pumps.

She also wore a pair of enormous earrings with pink stones, and on her wrist, she wore the Edinburgh Wedding Bracelet which was gifted to the Queen by Prince Philip to mark their 1947 nuptials.
