Tell us a little about your journey designing the bridal collection Nooreza.

NOOREZA is our 10th Anniversary collection. It marks 10 glorious years of Label Ridhi Mehra in the industry and is very special to me. It is also our first-ever bridal couture collection, the grandest by far, standing tall as a milestone in itself.

With this anniversary collection, I wanted to bring our best by reimagining some of our most iconic styles over the years.Nooreza is the fruit of love, labour, nostalgia, learning, retrospection and aspirations aplenty. This collection is a stroll down memory lane, with showstopping styles a decade down the line reinvented with a contemporary touch.

When did the idea of a bridal line come to you?

The anniversary collection was in the works and my idea was to capture the sense of pride and joy whilst creating this celebration edit. It’s also the season of festivities and weddings in particular which further gave the impetus to taking the direction of launching a grand bridal couture collection.

What made you pick Lisa Haydon as your muse for the bridal collection?

Lisa Hayden was our very first showstopper for our very first showcase at the Lakme fashion week – the first milestone in the history of the label. Her enigma, her charm, and her stunning, iconic aura truly complement our vision of the celebratory Ridhi Mehra Woman. Lisa is a dream muse. Everything she does stands out; she’s a complete icon in herself. So, celebrating this full circle moment with Lisa as the face of Nooreza was only natural.

What are the top bridal trends for the next season – colour, silhouettes, styles?

The following check off as the top bridal trends for the next season in my list: Classic trail-back silhouettes will make a comeback; Ivory will take the centre stage; the opulent double dupatta dazzle is sure to stay; gorgeous jackets over sareesand chic modern cuts from corsets to bustiers will change the narrative further.

The bridal pieces are extremely wearable not only for a wedding but even after, what motivated you to design such versatile looks?

Our intention and design visions have always kept the theme of effortless glamour in the centre. In this collection, we’ve reimagined classic silhouettes and styles with a touch of elements from contemporary times. All our ensembles are reflective of this approach. You’ll find classic silhouettes accented with modern-day elements, such as frills and feathers. But as old as time, the essence of our ensembles remains – to be alluring, versatile and forever charismatic, whether they’re styled down or up, right or left.
