We love the way the gown is throwing it back to Victorian silhouettes with off-the-shoulder poet sleeves, fabric buttons and a ruched bodice – not only for the way it mirrors the mood of the historic home venue but the for the way it moves. From the Photographer, Kate Preftakes Photography: This romantic styled shoot was inspired by the staircase in a historic home in Keene, NH. The double staircase was built for a real wedding many years ago and our team felt that it was the perfect backdrop to showcase our vision. Here in NH we work with a lot of brides that like to incorporate their historical childhood homes into their weddings.
Our vision: Nicole and Brandon were married in Nicole’s grandmother’s house on a gorgeous spring day in April, 2021. Nicole is a big reader, and she especially loves classic literature. Her grandmother’s collection of old books made the house a perfectly delightful venue for the ceremony and reception. The sun shone through the rustic window panes illuminating the heartwarming scene inside and evoking magical memories from childhood.
Father of the Bride vibes, anyone? There’s a reason this decor direction is considered classic. And we feel #blessed we get to fawn over the candlelit staircase, lush cascading bouquet and poet sleeve wedding dress in this New England mini wedding for life!
