Princess Maria Laura, the daughter of Princess Astrid and the granddaughter of King Albert II, married her French-British beau, William Isvy, in Brussels today. They had two wedding ceremonies: a civil wedding at Brussels City Hall, followed by a religious wedding at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels. For the civil ceremony, Princess Maria Laura wore a Gucci mini dress, and for the bigger ceremony at the Cathedral, she wore a custom Vivienne Westwood gown.

The couple looked very in love.

Other members of the Belgian royal family were in attendance for the civil ceremony, including Princess Maria Laura’s mom, Princess Astrid (in another Gucci look, in green, second from left).

Also in attendance were her grandparents, Queen Paola and King Albert II (center).

Queen Mathilde and King Philippe were also at the civil wedding ceremony. Maria’s mother, Princess Astrid, is Philippe’s younger sister.

Inside the ceremony, William couldn’t stop smiling.

Princess Maria Laura and her father Prince Lorenz of Belgium arrived together to the wedding ceremony at Saint Michael and Saint Gudula Cathedral in Brussels.

After she got out of the car, she waved to the crowds.

Maria wore the Savoy-Aosta Diamond Tiara, and her dress was designed by Vivienne Westwood.

“A dress with great historical influence,” Herve Verhoosel, the couple’s spokesperson, told Dutch media. “The corset and neckline are inspired by fashionable women of the 18th century and the fabric that drapes over the shoulders, drapes and falls from the hip is reminiscent of ancient Greek statues.”

The dress featured a 4-meter train, “especially created for Maria Laura, to create the drama and presence needed for the cathedral,” per her spokesperson.

Carrying her train were Princess Marie-Astrid, her cousin Princess Olympia Napoleon, her sister-in-law Princess Elisabetta and her sister Princess Luisa.

Her mom, Princess Astrid, wore an extremely fun green outfit from Gucci.

Princess Delphine, too, was in attendance, with her children Oscar O’Hare (left) and Josephine O’Hare (right). She was recognized as a princess in 2020—she’s the half-sister of King Philippe.

Princess Lea, widow of Prince Alexandre of Belgium, arrived in a light blue outfit.
