Succession’s Sarah Snook’s Wedding Details

Back in Succession’s first season, Shiv’s decadent wedding to Tom Wambsgans was a major turning point—and not just for the bride and groom. After all, what would a Roy family gathering be without the drug deal or two, a touch of death by misadventure, or a bit of a coverup? Fortunately for Sarah Snook, who was nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Shiv on the show, her own nuptials were slightly less dramatic (we hope), albeit under some equally fiction-worthy circumstances.

Far from Succession’s cut-throat family drama, Snook’s own love story sounds more like something out of rom-com. Back in 2020, as she waited for the long-delayed production to begin on season three of Succession (debuting October 17), the actress found herself living out the quarantine with friends, including actor Dave Lawson. The two fell in love and, earlier this February, quietly got married in a small backyard ceremony.

“We’re in that very fortunate and strange position,” Snook told Town & Country for our November cover story, “to be like, ‘Well, fuck this pandemic,’ but also we wouldn’t have had this relationship if it never happened.”

Eventually, Snook reveals, the couple intends to plan a bigger wedding reception to celebrate with friends and family, and to go on a real, quarantine-free honeymoon, but for now the couple are happily enjoying their time as newlyweds in their new home outside of Melbourne.
