Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ Is Ruining Brides’ Wedding Dates

Taylor Swift attends the 2022 MTV VMAs at Prudential Center on August 28, 2022 in Newark, New Jersey.

Taylor Swift’s upcoming “The Eras” htour ad Swifties freaking out all over the US when she announced it. It will be the “Bejeweled” singer’s first show in five years. But there’s one problem: brides are reconsidering their wedding dates in order to attend her concert.

Earlier this week, the singer-songwriter announced “The Eras” tour, beginning from March 2023 and running through August. She said on social media, “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past & present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!” She included the link to the Ticketmaster website. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on November 18, with an earlier rollout of tickets for Capital One credit card members beginning November 15 at 10 a.m. local time. There will also be a Ticketmaster Verified Fan program “to ensure tickets get into the hands of fans,” where buyers can register for the setup now through November 9. Tickets run from $49 up to $449, with VIP packages that start at $199 and go up to $899.

Friday morning (November 4), Swift said that she is adding eight extra concerts on top of the 27 that were initially announced. The new dates are additions to cities that were previously already on the schedule, adding another day. However, even with the new dates added, millennial brides might have to cancel their 2023 weddings in order to make it to a Taylor Swift concert.

One TikTok user took to the platform to say they’re “feeling so sorry for any millennial woman out there who just found out their wedding date is one of these,” while showing a list of the hotly anticipated tour dates. “You’ve been planning this wedding for two years and now she’s coming to your city on your wedding day? Your millennial female friends and your bridesmaids now torn between which of the events they go to? Maybe even you yourself is like: concert or wedding?”

The clip went viral, with 500,000 plays and over 78,000 likes. Swifties in that exact predicament took to the comments section to air out their dilemma. One TikTok user wrote, “Weddings can be rescheduled. Stadium tours are non negotiable.” Another said, “ITS ME. CINCINNATI. FOUR BLOCKS AWAY.” One TikToker was prepared for this and said, “The possibility of a 2023 taylor tour was like 10% of why i chose a 2024 wedding date.”

Some Swifties were more concerned about their baby’s due date! “Girl what about my DUE DATE?!?!” wrote one person, while another said, “Our first baby is due the same week!!”
