Joe Gorga thinks his sister, Teresa Giudice, is being disrespectful to him by not making his wife, Melissa Gorga, a bridesmaid in her upcoming wedding.
“Regardless if she liked my wife or she didn’t like my wife, she’s basically smacking me in the face, and she’s giving me no respect, and she’s making it hard on me,” Joe said in Thursday’s episode of the “Melissa Gorga on Display” podcast.
“It’s not about just my wife — it’s basically ‘I don’t care about my brother.’”
Joe, 42, said hypothetically that if he were the one getting married, he would include his sibling’s spouse in the wedding party even if he did not like them.
“I don’t want drama. I want it to be a great day,” he said. “I want to be happy, and I want my sister there, and I want it to be peaceful [and] make my sister happy.”
Joe called his sister’s actions “terrible” and said it brought them back “12 years ago,” referring to the infamous christening fight on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” that resulted in years of strained relationships between the siblings and their family members.
While Melissa, 43, insisted she is not “upset with” her sister-in-law, she agreed with her husband that “it sets us all back because it’s almost like insulting you.”
Giudice, 49, broke the news to the Bravoverse — and Melissa — that her sister-in-law would not be included in her bridal party in a March episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
Melissa recently admitted that she was not initially hurt, but that changed when she found out Giudice’s fiancé Luis “Louie” Ruelas’ sisters all made the cut. Giudice justified the decision by arguing that she is closer with her future sisters-in-law.
“This is the thing, honey: We’re not close. Like, you’re my sister-in-law, but we’re not close,” Giudice bluntly told Melissa in Tuesday’s episode of “RHONJ.”
The Envy boutique founder then revealed that her family was not at the same table with Giudice and Ruelas, 48, during their engagement party in December 2021, to which the “Standing Strong” author denied having any prior knowledge of the seating arrangements.
