Canyon Laker Pat Ziegler gets surprise 75th birthday bash at PZA Restaurant
Retired 101st Airborne and 82nd Airborne infantry machine gunner Pat Ziegler, who did two combat tours in Vietnam, was surprised by family and friends over the weekend with a surprise 75th birthday celebration.
“I was so surprised by my dear friends and my wife Dona who pulled off this amazing evening,” Pat said. “I’m a lucky man to have my friends here tonight and I’m more lucky to have been married to my soulmate for the last 19 years.”

Weltys announce the engagement of their daughter to San Diego man
Dale and Kellie Welty of Canyon Lake have announced the engagement of their daughter, Allison McNaughton, also of Canyon Lake, to Alec Rodriguez of San Diego.
The couple are planning to wed on Oct. 10 next year in Fallbrook and then to reside in San Diego.

John and Calista Grande hold wedding reception at friend‘s Canyon Lake house
Canyon Lake’s John Grande and Calista Magee were married in a small ceremony in New Jersey last month and celebrated in Canyon Lake on Sunday with family and friends at a reception held at a friend’s home on Whirlaway.
The couple were celebrated by more than 100 family and friends. There was music, laughter and tons of hugs and well wishes for the newlyweds.
John owns Canyon Lake Solar and is president elect of the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce. Calista is an active member of the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club and serves on its board as secretary.
John and Calista have been residents of Canyon Lake for five years.
“I can’t believe she’s my wife,” John said at the reception. “I love her so much. She’s my soulmate.”
Calista said being married feels different.
“I didn‘t think it would, but somehow, we feel closer to each other,” she said.
John and Calista held a small ceremony for their kids before the guests arrived for the reception.
