This wedding dress in UK is made of 1,500 disposable masksĀ 


Designed by Tom Silverwood, a noted TV and film costume designer, the gown was made with funding from the wedding planner website ‘Hitched’.

While the pandemic forced many to be masked on their wedding days, this designer from the UK went beyond to bring this perfect-looking bridal dress made completely of disposed masks. Yes, this wedding dress is made of 1,500 discarded face masks.

The idea came up because the number of face masks discarded increases every day. Designed by Tom Silverwood, a noted TV and film costume designer, the gown was made with funding from the wedding planner website ‘Hitched’.

 

Wearing the masked creation, model Jemima Hambro did a photo shoot near St Paul’s Cathedral in London. The lovely white wedding gown, which is also said to highlight the impact of the waste, created by disposable plastic PPE, has on the environment, got the attention of both the onlookers at the venue and netizens online.
