CARROLLTON – Stephen and Patricia Toussaint of Carrollton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

For the past 33 years they have been and currently are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Godfrey. They were married Feb. 25, 1973 in Alton. Trees had green leaves, daffodils were in bloom, women and girls were all in spring dresses. It was the only Feb. 25 like it since.

Steve Toussaint is a graduate from Roxana High School, has a diploma from DeVry, Chicago and an associate’s degree from Lewis and Clark Community College. He is a retired contract employee from various nuclear power plants where he worked on the operations control systems. Pat Toussaint is a graduate of Alton High School. She is retired from 20 years as a seamstress for Alton and Wood River retailers and she also worked part-time at several Alton restaurants.

The couple has five children: Teresa Ames of Kampsville; Christopher Toussaint of St. Peters, Missouri; Marcie Routt of High Ridge, Missouri; Bradley Toussaint of Godfrey; and Deborah Harper of Granite City. They have nine grandchildren and 2 great grandsons who all are located in the greater St. Louis area.

They are planning a family dinner in celebration of their anniversary.
