A wedding is, hopefully, a once-in-a-lifetime event, and those planning it want it to be perfect.
However, sometimes things happen during the ceremony that make the guests stop in their tracks. Luckily for us, many of these have been caught on camera.
From special gestures that made us shed a tear to mishaps that incited fits of giggles, here are our favorite viral wedding moments from 2021….
1) Flowers to Flames
At a wedding it is tradition for the bride to throw her bouquet, and whoever catches it will supposedly be next down the aisle.
However, at one marriage ceremony this did not happen. Why? Because the bride accidentally set fire to the flowers. Whoops-a-daisy!
2) Groom Steals the Show
The bride’s entrance on her wedding day is usually the peak of the ceremony, but not at these nuptials.
Adriano DiMulo’s journey down the aisle was a tough act to follow as he was carried on the shoulders of four men as the song “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg blasted through speakers. Epic!
3)Black Bear Crashes Wedding
Wedding crashers are never welcome, even less so when they come in the form of a wild animal.
In footage shared to TikTok by Angie Diaz we can see the heart-stopping moment a black bear arrived at her cousin’s wedding, knocking over items as the guests stay still.
Diaz maintains she wasn’t scared but rather “mesmerized.”
4) Wedding Flash Mob
When one bride decided to surprise her husband and guests with a flash mob the internet was left reeling.
The TikTok video shows performers burst into a rendition of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Frankie Valli, with the bride even joining in. However, some deemed the viral clip a “nightmare”.
5) Groom Carries Brides Disabled Twin
This video of a groom carrying his bride-to-be’s disabled sister down the aisle is sure to make you shed a tear.
It was shared to TikTok by Morgan Watkins alongside the caption: “I wanted her to have her special moment as a bride like her twin sister. I will forever cherish this!”
6) Drunk on Love?
Saying “I do” is a memorable moment for any couple. However, one man on TikTok appeared to be so inebriated he has most likely forgotten exchanging his vows.
In the clip shared by Russian creator Lordofelfs76, the groom is being held up by a friend as he struggles to stay conscious, and at one point almost falls over.
7) Father of the Bride’s Sweet Gesture
The selfless moment that a dad asked his daughter’s stepfather to join them on their walk down the aisle was caught on camera, and rightly went viral.
The emotional scene finishes with the bride, flanked by the two men, making their way to greet her husband-to-be. Some things really are better shared!
8) Best Man’s Prank
Seeing the bride in her wedding dress for the first time should take a groom’s breath away.
However, when one man stood in a church as someone in white dress and veil approached he fell about laughing.
Why? Because it was his best man dressed up as his wife-to-be.
9) Football Score Wedding Address
While a wedding is all about love, for some the true love of their life is college football.
Because the ceremony was going on at the same time as an important game for the Cincinnati Bearcats, the marriage officiant managed to update the guests on the score by disguising it as a biblical verse.
