Vision Group’s Bride and Groom Expo couple weds

Immaculate Oroma, who won Vision Group’s Bride and Groom Expo (2022) is now a fully married lady.

The youthful professional librarian based at the Law Development Centre (Lira Campus) tied the knot with her beloved husband, the charming Francis Ocendi during a memorable function at Uganda Martyrs Minor Basilica, Namugongo, in Wakiso district on Saturday (January 14, 2023).

The matrimonial function of the Ocendis was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dan Oryema, assisted by Fr. Alex Ssemogerere and Fr. Michael Citia (from Parombo Catholic parish, Nebbi Diocese).

The function was graced by an impressive number of jubilant relatives and friends, many of whom travelled from Nebbi, where the two love birds hail.

Delivering his homily during the wedding mass, Fr. Oryema put it to the Ocendis to accord each other maximum love, care and respect, because both of them were made from the same material as the Bible puts it.

He further asked the couple not to pay attention to trivial issues, which he said, can breed mistrust between them and consequently lead to the collapse of their marriage.

The memorable wedding function of the Ocendis gives testimony to God’s mysterious ways which many times defeat human understanding.

Even before Vision Group’s Bride and Groom Expo, the Ocendis had wanted to wed. You know they were under sweet pressure from relatives, friends and Christians, who admired their flowery character and commitment to the Catholic faith and as such saw no convincing reason as to why they were not tying the knot.

So, they resolved to wed, come what may. Meanwhile, Vision Group organized the Bride and Group Expo (July 2022) and the Ocendis decided to give it a try by buying a number of tickets, one of which was the winner.

People looked on in amazement as Francis narrated this interesting story of their marriage and friendship, which surprisingly, started 32 years ago (1999) when they were in primary seven.

The Ocendis thanked Vision Group and its partners (Bridal World, Sarah’s Cakes, Signature Jewelry, Fragolino Wine, Creation Nation (photography and videography), Onomo Hotel, Uganda Airlines, Neptune Hotel (Mombasa), etc) for fulfilling their promises towards the wedding.

The Ocendis further thanked their relatives and friends, in particular their organizing committee, for their moral and financial support, without which their function would not have been memorable.

The couple received many gifts from their relatives and friends.

Workmates from LDC (Lira Campus) and Infectious Diseases Institute (Nebbi Cluster, where Framcis works) also showered the couple with flowery compliments and messages of love, solidarity and goodwill.

As per the commitment of Vision Group, the couple will be flown to Neptune Hotel in Mombasa for their honeymoon, courtesy of Uganda Airlines.
