Want a Halloween wedding ‘scare’-a-mony? Here’s how in Osceola

Body

There are destination weddings, and there are dates that are meaningful to people for tying the knot.

If you are planning upcoming nuptials and have a flair for the dramatic — and macabre — how about Halloween?

Well, in a sense, a tuxedo is a costume, right?

The Osceola Clerk of Court and Comptroller Office will host what it bills as “a spooky celebration of love and marriage” on Oct. 31, inviting up to 15 couples in each of two group ceremonies during the inaugural Halloween-themed Wedding Ceremony and Reception.

The event will be held in the courtroom of the Osceola County Historic Courthouse; ceremonies will be held in English at 10 a.m. and Spanish at 2 p.m.

Registration is now open and will close Oct. 27, or when each ceremony reaches capacity. (Due to the event’s expected popularity, couples are urged to make their marriage license appointment to sign up as soon as possible). Marriage license link: https://utm.guru/ueYpG

The cost is $50 per couple, and included with the Ceremony is a reception with cupcakes, beverages and themed music. Ceremony and recording fees, a decorative certificate, themed photo opportunities and a printed photo are also included. Couples will have to get their marriage license from the Osceola County Clerk’s office.

Attendees are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes or attire.

“Our professional clerk staff recommended we create a formal Halloween event,” Osceola County Clerk of Court Kelvin Soto said. “I am happy to support their creativity and ideas to serve. This will elevate the traditional Courthouse Wedding experience.”
