A woman is said to have created history after she married her favourite colour pink in Les Vegas on New Year’s Day. Kitten Kay Sera held a wedding ceremony to tie the knot with the colour on January 1.

Sera decided to marry the colour after being in a relationship with it for more than 40 years. The idea to hold a wedding came to her two years ago when a child made a jibe at her for wearing the colour.

“A kid said to me on a skateboard, he said, ‘Wow you love pink, right?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I love it so much,’ and he goes, ‘You love it so much, why don’t you marry it?’ I thought, ‘This kid’s on to something,’” Sera told KVVU.

For the big day, Sera dressed in a pink gown, fluffy pink coat, along with a pink tiara. She also had her hair coloured pink. Her jewellery and lipstick also were made to match perfectly.

Sera walked down the aisle with a giant swatch of pink colour. It featured five different shades, which she said are her favourite.

“I’m actually marrying the colour pink. I actually have a giant pink swatch, like a pink paint swatch, so the colours are like my favourite. They’re all listed, and I’ll be holding my pink swatch,” she said.

Wedding guests celebrated Sera’s love for the colour by wearing pink outfits.

Pink flowers were laid on the floor as she walked down and said, “I think people have companions but I have a colour!”

In one photo, Sera was seen sitting on the back of an open-top pink convertible as she held a large bouquet of flowers.

She vowed to wear the colour “until the day she dies”.

She encouraged everyone to do what they love while they still can. “Have fun with it! Have a ball,” she said. “You’re only here for a little bit of time. Have a blast.”
