PICKING your wedding dress is the most important fashion decision you’ll ever make.
But once the day is over, your beloved frock is pretty much destined to spend the next few decades stuffed in the back of the wardrobe gathering dust.

So naturally, most brides hang onto their dresses in the hope that a future family member might like to wear it on their own special day.
Or at least, that’s what this woman had hoped would happen with her silk wedding dress which she wore in 1994.
Earlier this year, the now-grandmother put her dress up for sale for $800 [£625] on Facebook and moaned the next generation of women in her family were too big for it.
Sharing photos of her wearing the Size Two [UK Size 6] on her special day, the woman wrote: “Has been professionally packaged to keep in new condition.”
When asked why she didn’t keep hold of it a little longer, the woman continued: “If I had daughters I would, but even my daughter-in-laws were too big.
“Even my granddaughters will be bigger and not fit the dress. I always hoped that one of them would have been able to, that’s why I’ve kept it all these years.
“It’s also why I paid to have it professionally packed and preserved, unfortunately my boys married bigger girls and my granddaughters will also be bigger than I am.”
And if that wasn’t awkward enough, the woman admitted that she had hoped her sons would “marry someone small enough to wear it”.
Gushing about the “gorgeous” dress, she added: “The way it flows when walking is breathtaking.”
When she was planning her wedding in the early 90s, the woman said this was the “top of the line” dress at popular US chain David’s Bridal.
She added: “I’ll probably end up sending it to a bridal consignment shop.
“They have offered me more than I was asking, I just think those places are so cold and they will sell it for more than I was asking.”
Needless to say, the post rubbed some users up the wrong way and it wasn’t long before it ended up being posted on Reddit’s Wedding Shaming forum.
“Fat-shaming the women in two generations of your family, nice,” one replied. “Grandmother of the year.”
Another joked: “I’m not saying I would purposely gain 10kg to not have to wear that dress.
“But I’m not not saying it either.”
Meanwhile, a third savagely wrote: “No one of any size – small, medium, big, bigger or biggest – would want to wear this white polyester abomination today.”
