Photographer Claire Eyos takes us on a journey through this romantic visual narrative teeming with pear and apple details, embellished high fashion and Château de Courtomer wedding views. Aurélia Boulenger designed each moment with the Normandy setting in mind, careful not to intrude on the pastoral interlude of the setting where the ceremony was held and mindful of how the architecture of the venue could provide a natural backdrop for the long dinner table. We are particularly in love with the way BayaFlor & Design adorned a wrought iron gate from years past with wild and unruly blooms tangled in with climbing greenery and vines. From the Planner and Designer, Aurélia Boulenger: When creating this wedding inspiration at Château de Courtomer, our main goal was to showcase what could be an elegant and romantic wedding in a pure Normandy style.
The objective was then to add a lot of Normandy inspired elements while still keeping the global style refined.
The first element we selected was the portal we used for the ceremony arch. Normandy is full of antique shops with vintage and precious objects. We found this portal in one of these antique shops and directly knew this would be the base for our ceremony. We then decided we would create not a traditional ceremony arch but a ceremony portal.
A second element we chose to include in the design were the apples and pears. When visiting Normandy, you can see on the side of the roads lots of apple trees and this is one of the things that people usually remember from Normandy. Indeed in France, Normandy is well known for the apples with a typical alcohol from the region made with apples, the Calvados.
To be authentic and show the culture of the region, we added some fruits in the design of the table and of the flatlays.
Château de Courtomer is definitely a place with a warm atmosphere and where you instantly feel at home when you arrive. We really wanted to keep that in mind when choosing the details of the design.

When choosing the elements and textures, velvet instantly came to my mind as it also has this warm feeling. It was then used in different elements like the tablecloth, chairs and the suit.
