A behind-the-scenes photo from And Just Like That season 2 teases a callback to Carrie’s wedding. Created by Darren Star, Sex and the City was one of HBO’s most popular offerings during its run. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall, Sex and the City clocked in six seasons and spawned two feature films. Released in 2004, the first Sex and the City film centered on Carrie’s plight after being left at the altar by her longtime love, Mr. Big (Chris Noth).

In December 2021, HBO Max debuted Sex and the City’s sequel series, And Just Like That, which follows Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate careers, family, and love in a new decade in their lives. Helmed by Michael Patrick King, And Just Like That season 1 featured the shocking death of Mr. Big, introduced Miranda’s new love interest Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), and explained Samantha Jones’ (Cattrall) apparent absence. Earlier this year, HBO Max announced that And Just Like That would return for season 2.
For now, plot details for And Just Like That season 2 remain under wraps, but the next installment will feature a throwback to the first film. The series’ official Instagram account, Just Like That Max, posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Parker stepping out of her trailer while donning Carrie’s iconic Vivienne Westwood wedding gown. Notably absent from the picture are Carrie’s blue Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes, which were destroyed at the time of Mr. Big’s death. Check out the post below:
Will Carrie Get Remarried in Season 2?
While Parker is wearing Carrie’s voluptuous wedding gown for And Just Like That, it’s unlikely the attire is for her second round of vows. Of course, the second season could feature a fashion event, such as a gala. Carrie attending a gala would allow Carrie to wear the Westwood masterpiece that was never properly showcased to a crowd. Indeed, And Just Like That season 2 has a lot to unpack in Carrie’s love life. It was recently announced that John Corbett would reprise his role as Carrie’s ex-fiance Aidan Shaw for season 2, much to the delight of longtime fans.
As of right now, HBO Max has yet to announce the release date for And Just Like That season 2. Of course, season 2 has the opportunity to return to the show’s roots by featuring Carrie navigating the New York City dating world as a widow. Sex and the City developed a devoted fan base, and viewers can look forward to seeing Carrie’s wedding dress infused into the new storyline.
