Bride Backed for Getting Photographer Fired for Wearing ‘No Bra’ at Wedding

A bride who got a photographer fired over her questionable outfit at her wedding has been applauded online.

The newlywed shared a post on Reddit’s popular Am I The A**hole forum, under username u/No_Tart_7855, explaining they’d tied the knot two months ago.

It went off without a hitch, but there was one aspect that stood out to the couple and the guests—and that was the photographer’s outfit.

“We hired a photographer through a company, a midsized place that assigned you an employee,” the woman wrote. “We met with her a few times to go over expectations, venues, etc. No red flags, nothing weird.”

“Day of the wedding she shows up in a sheer white blouse with lace, completely see-through, with no bra,” the woman continued. “I noticed, my husband noticed, everyone noticed. I, and most of my guests, just spent the evening trying to look away.”

“All through the reception, I could overhear people talking about it or joking about it. My husband and I had a good laugh about it after everything was done, just sort of a “wtf was that, did that really happen?” I guess every wedding needs a weird story, at least mine didn’t involve a guest,” she said.

Photography is usually one of the major costs of a wedding, with various packages and videography on offer, including snapping the bride and bridesmaids getting ready, as well as the ceremony.

The industry now sees drones and two-person teams on offer to capture every moment, the wedding website Brides said, and it goes without saying they need to be booked well in advance.

As such the site noted the cost of a wedding photography package can vary between $1,000 and $10,000.

“Wedding photography is a significant investment,” the Brides website warned. “That’s why it’s important to thoroughly vet photographers before signing on the dotted line.”

And among their round-up of 36 key questions to ask a photographer, they advised asking: “How will you and your assistants be dressed?”

After the wedding, it seems the bride thought nothing more of it, and she got the photos, finding them “good and in line with what we paid for.”

A day or two later she received an automated survey asking for feedback, as she continued: “Overall I rated them well and even rated the photographer well except for the professional category, I gave a 3 (out of 5) and in the box filled in that I felt her clothing could be more professional.

“A manager called me for more clarity, I explained the outfit and said it wasn’t a big deal but wasn’t really situationally appropriate. Manager didn’t say much but sounded serious and thanked me for informing them,” she wrote.

It later transpired the photographer was fired over the incident, and she wasn’t happy about it.

“End of story right? Well nope,” the woman continued. “On the weekend, photographer girl shows up drunk on my lawn wearing three bras and starts screaming at my house. Long story short, she was let go from her job and felt I was the AH to blame. Eventually, we had to call the police to have her removed.”

“People I know are torn, some think it was funny and I should have let it go, others think it deserved to be called out. AITA?” she asked.

The post, which can be read here, racked up more than 13,000 upvotes since being posted on Tuesday, as people sided with the bride.

Lesterbottomley wrote: “Yeah there’s no way she was fired due to this one three-star review. Has to be the latest in a series of issues. And her reaction pretty much backs this up.”

ICWhatsNUrP thought: “The fact that a manager called OP over a three-star section of a high review means they were looking for a reason to fire her.”

Brrringsaythealiens commented: “And I’d be surprised if a woman who thought it was reasonable to show up at a client’s house wearing three bras (hahahaha) has an immaculate work history.”

Commercial-Push-9066 joked: “If only she’d wore just one bra at the wedding, she might still have a job.”

Loki–Laufeyson said: “I bet she’s worn inappropriate outfits at multiple weddings. There’s no way she got fired for a one-off, three-star review with all good ratings for service.”

Zealousideal-Top8801 pointed out: “A sheer white blouse with lace wouldn’t be acceptable for a waiter in an upscale venue either though. She didn’t dress for the situation or for her job.”

While Baffled_soap added: “I want to say that showing up drunk to OP’s house to yell at them also speaks volumes to the photographer’s lack of professionalism.”
